Mr McCartney, the new librarian in Minden, was quite busy last week.
On Monday, he received some new books but was able to catalogue only some
of them. On Tuesday, he received as many books as remained from
Monday still to be processed and he was able to catalogue only ten of
these latest arrivals. On Wednesday, he received twelve more than on Monday
but he was able to catalogue on Wednesday and was able to process
eight of them. On Friday, only six new books arrived; yet he catalogued
twelve less than he had recived on Wednesday. On Saturday, the library
was closed and he catalogued the remaining sixteen books. How many did he receive on Wednesday? |
